A WEEK!

So lets just sink all the emotions in and be ECSTATIC about the Champions of Europe coming to town! Plus, tomorrow I'll be hanging out with several of my favourite people in the world, so... Yeah. Life is good :)

P.S. One of my hobbies are dressing up and take pictures BUT it's all fake, baby. I don't look like those donned up in high end makeup and beautiful dresses girls everyday. This is my daily look and what they call as my 'natural bitchface'. I'm a proud owner of one and it brings me less trouble, I believe.

SWEETEST FRIDAY

As you all know this day is a very special day for XI IPA-3.

We perform our musical drama first.

I'm just, through the roof. WE MADE IT GUYS. All of the unnecessary feelings and satires we shared is nothing compared to the final result. I know we messed up a bit (during Umbrella dance, sigh) but that's all right. Because we love the final of the final dance! And I just love the fact that #17 #18 generation and some of the #16 are willing to watch us, because that's what shows are for. To be watched! My personal fear is to be put in front, for all the school to see but I overcome that by chanting Diva's triumph chants. Diva has gotten into me right now, lol.

Let me tell you about the story of our musicals.

Well, there's this 'boy gang' and 'girl gang' (+1... well... A Drag queen). One boy fell in love with the one girl from the other gang, and joining forces with the coolest dance crew on earth, they made a fine, awesome dance force!

The first act was Madcon's Beggin and the boys (Danar, Fafa, Ken, and Hasan) made this gate-thingy with their bodies hanging on to each other, doing a opening/closing gate movements. After the gate thingy, in come the girls (ME! and Sarah and Yavis and Amel) with the Umbrella, dancing to Rihanna's Umbrella. It's the least cool dance for me, because it doesn't take that much time practising. Though the umbrella is quite hard to manoeuvre. Mine was so stiff and it took a bit of effort to kick-open the umbrella, yet Sarah's opened during the dance. Oops. Anyway when the umbrella dance is finished, Danar, Fafa, Ken, and Hasan did a stunt jump over the back thingy and landed, becoming robots like in Step Up 3! Fafa and Hasan was the coolest. After that they backed up, Almas came in and do a solo robot steps with scooping motions on the background, when Fafa and Hasan did breakdance steps.

And this is where (my) fun begun. After the robot thingy is done, I, Sarah, Yavis and Maul got in to do a simple salsa step with the boys. Minus Hasan of course. This is absolutely my favourite part. It's a bit messy though for the others because we didn't put down the same steps (mine and Danar's was one on one, Almas-Maul's was sets of three, Ken-Sarah was sets of two and some cha-chas, and Fafa-Yavis' are there to be cute and funny, lol) but I received a lot of compliments on the salsa and it sent me through the roof. Dude, I really sucked at Umbrella! It's like my body is embalmed and stiff as heck but I could let some go in salsa. When it ends, we started shuffling and ended the whole scene with Gangnam Style! YAY FOR GANGNAM STYLE. Is a bit tricky though because I wore a knee-length short dress but that's alright.

Sadly, no one took pictures because the hall was quite dark (thankfully it's cold) and no videos are taken! It's too sad because we want to send the clips to Maris and Rani, the -2 we really missed.

This is... The best Friday of the year! I'm sure there are (and will be) great, just simply great Fridays in the past and future but this tops of the list. Our win is our happiness, guys. I know this is not an achievement or a competition or anything but at least we prove ourself damn well today. Danke Welt. Danke XI IPA-3. It's not a bad thing, is it, being moved to November 30th? :D

Life fearlessly; and responsibly.

I notice I hadn't left any crap in my blog for a week, probably more. I'm really maximising my time to sleep and rest because I've been so tired lately. School is busy but always great; please do bear in mind that school will always be great. I know I usually say sucky *name of a day* here but at school, everything is right and everything is fun, nothing hurts and everything is smile-worthy. Well, except the bruise Rayhan gave me. Hurts like hell, but the memory made me laugh. Well, not now, because I'm still furious, but maybe later. Have you ever gone back to times that was nauseating; annoying; head-gonna-blow-in-any-seconds-now moments? And realise what thoughts are bouncing in your head singing yada-yada-yada-this-moment-will-ruin-your-life, when you're perfectly fine in the end?

I always gone back to the past (my favourite, top-of-the-list place) and recount my steps. Learning in school is nothing compared to the things you've learned in the past time unconsciously. Trig maybe hard, but if you've been there; overcoming life, it's nothing.

Now, in my mid sixteen year of age, I'm trying to learn to live uncontrollably, jumping and leaping and risking big things. Tattooing (temporary) words on my ribcages and wrists and legs and tell me, God, this is what I call rebel. It's not drinking, it's not cutting, attempting suicide. Reading kinky things out loud, that's rebel. Not bringing a simple task on purpose, not working on a hard task on purpose.

I've been sad most of the time, call me a hypocrite for saying it doesn't hurt; because it hurts. For saying it doesn't matter; because it matters. For saying that you can get it off your mind; because you can't. The only thing you can do is using the pain as a head start on everything. Sports, passion, art, learning a new frikkin language and putting everything towards the future. I'm helplessly young, I have a huge future waiting for me thus I shall not embrace it empty-handed.

Being sad, overly sad, is not in the list of 'Life fearlessly and responsibly'.

You know what is? Speed driving in a heavy rain with rock songs on... But still aware of what's around us. It's so frikkin hard; but it's worth the fun.

(You know I've been saying frikkin as if I'm saying f--kin, even my native teacher looked up his head and said, "What did you just say?" Lol, either I'm good or I'm a freak.)

Happy thoughts: Munich Fashion Style is not that hard to pull out... And effortlessly fit my styling. I know B-W is a long shot from Muenchen but still, the girl is WORRIED and insecure of what to use.

New obsession: STOP MOTION! It's not that hard and I've made one. Going to try again soon after the midterms.

(+) Not studying when it's a day (or two?) away to midterms. Off with my mom to some funky exhibition of prints and fabrics! Yada.

Rain. Ef. Not a good combination.

TODAY IS FUN. Yay I (think) I aced my chem test, but what the hell I always think things and it will fall apart in a way that I don't want it to be. Freak. I made, like, stupid little tray with pizza and (what supposed to be) steak and veggies but it kinda looked like bread so I'd stick with bread (with tiny bits of veggie on the side because I'm a hipster and I eat veggies. Lol. Jk. I got a list of books to buy as usual and the top of the list is:

Ugh I'm so mellow. Ew mellow. But yay mellow because my galauness output is quite good to be frank but I don't like to be cocky but I do and enough with this but things. I miss reading Fifty Shades because I miss having Christian on my dreams side aside with Erandhi and now it's just Erandhi. Now playing: Lana's Dark Paradise. Anyway the book supposed to be amazing and I just wish I have a paypal account (so I could buy books on amazon dot com like a boss).

NERD ALERT! I'm having a crush on Joseph Vincent just because he's Joseph Vincent. His sleeve tattoo is nothing like scary or preman kampung at any point so yay! You had me at tattoo, J.V.

Let's just pray for a minute so my inner romantic mellow freak is strong enough to finish my words to you. Yes. Erandhi-you.

Matah Ati: The beautiful kind of beauty.

(photos courtesy of Matah Ati Facebook, and further info about the play is on the website)

&These are my favourite, favourite scenes of all.

Rambutmu, mbak Rambat:(

First&second are the great war, the next two is either Rubiyah's kasmaran or gundah gulana scene, both are the solo piece of Mbak Rambat Yulianingsih, the amazing dancer that potrays Rubiyah or Matah Ati. Next is the villagers scene. At Solo, they're making hell out of laugh /and/ some of sensitive political jokes. I love it. It's snappy, it's fast and it's clever. The caping throwing is awesome too because you see a lot of movement in the stage and it closed the part beautifully. After is Rubiyah (Mbak Rambat) and Raden Mas Said in the great war. I really like this photo because it's Rubiyah that's in the spotlight, not Raden Mas Said. I love the story. It's so javanese, I love being javanese. But it's so modern, regarding the time (The setting was supposed to be  1700-1800-ish), it's amazing that a woman that's not actually priyayi or royal could lead the war and actually win. The last photo is the lovemaking scene and what I love about it, it's so sacred and calming but scary at the same time. Mbak Rambat looks so pretty and I want to be that pretty. Javanese pretty. Not I'm-a-fabulous-New-York-City-Woman but Javanese beauty. It scares me though that somehow, out of nowhere, a man could ask your dad for permission to marry you.

With Mom

Matur nuwun saget kagem sendratari Matah Ati. It was a life-changing moment for a while:)

Oblivious/obvious

Hello! Ramadan day two! I stayed at the hotel in my PJs until noon, and I went home. I actually planned to watch a movie today but  thanks to my forever lazy ass, I cancelled them. I just have to watch The Dark Knight Rises within a week or... God. I want to see my babe Anne Hathaway in a catsuit so bad! (And mutter about it after, setting up crazy, unreachable diet programme. Uh-huh) I had poached teriyaki salmon and veggies today plus some fries for break fasting. Real food, unlike yesterday. And back in the hotel, I ordered some fried rice because I'm staarving. I was in the middle of my crazy photoshoot when mom came in and decided that I won't be up for sahur tomorrow, so I have to go to the boring hotel again. Yada. I want to watch a sappy movie but turns out I'm in the mood for Letters to Juliet instead. Hm. Weird.

(One of my shots. I think I'll continue tomorrow...)

Crack of the day: BMW Goreng. BMW Cabai Hijau. BMW Kremes.
Galau of the day: I'll never discuss this, not in a million years, but either you're heartless or obviously oblivious. Maybe I'll come up with something... Ten years from now.

Body Jam 61, babes!

(I want to be the future and the past, Hebrew)

Because in this long, highly-anticipated holiday, I got nothing to do, I went to the gym more often First, to lose more weight and second, to have fun. The endorphins are getting in to me, I'm telling you. So at Monday, I joined the Peloton class (It's indoor cycling, on a steady bike:p) and Hatha Yoga class. I'm sooo tired yesterday, I finished my chicken and beef porridge at Ta Wan so quick, hahahaha. I lost two pounds so far and I hope I'd be losing so much more. But I think that's an understatement because I'll be going home this weekend (Surabaya, yay!) and the city is overpopulated with good food. Nope, GREAT food. And I'll be staying in my Oma's house, even though Oma is away on Alaska. Last minute trips suck, don't you think.

Today I went to the gym at 5p.m. There's this Body Jam 61 launching that I'm really looking forward to. Because of the new schedule of EF, I've been running and doing weights only. I haven't been in class for like, a month or so. And truthfully, I miss the heart throbbing routine of Body Jam. I arrived at 5.30p.m.-ish and run on the treadmill for like, 8 minutes.

I said this before and I'm going to say it again; I prefer Body Jam 60. The movement is soooooo much effortless and flowing for me, plus the 60th track list kicks ass. The 61st Track list got some Rihanna and Tiesto. My favourite move? The Ninja thingy! And the body wave. I'm always good with the wave and anything involving my lower abdomen. The shoulder and the slide move is good too, and I'm /really/ looking forward to my next class. I have to say, though, that I feel like in a hip club dancing the night out every time I join Body Jam class, which I will never do, so, bravo Les Mills for creating the euphoria in the dance class! :))

This is the track list. My favourite is Work Hard, Play Hard.

Now Playing or... Song of the Moment:▸ Endah N Rhesa - Waiting.
I don't care about what people say about who you are or what you do, and all I see is that perfect lies in you.

A woman's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting.

So I'm here to talk about perfumes! I know I'm only sixteen now but I value so much about personal scent. I know my mom is training me to be less lavish than I used to be (college training, I'm going to live off country and living thin on smart, detailed money management), but I can't resist on buying perfumes. I spend most of my money on this... Magical potions.

My first ever perfume is J.Lo Glow. I know it's so awkward to use some celebrity perfume but I was so young back then (Ten,  I was ten) and I loved the smell. It's kind of powderish, like baby powder smell and it's not too old for my using, back then when I was ten-thirteen. I liked it and use it until now every now and then, but I gave my last bottle to Rina to let her finish it off:p It last for approximately five hours on me, so I had to re-apply during mid-day and night if I have to go out.

During my happy years, edge of thirteen to fourteen, I use The Body Shop's Cherry Blossom. It was an easy option because it's available and near, so I could reach it every time the bottle's out. I grew in to a brand member loyal itself, because everything was The Body Shop back then. The shower gel, the body scrub. Except for shampoos because I have a very low tolerance on detergent, and I tend to lose so much hair if I didn't put on some baby shampoo on. Sucks to be me, I know. Anyway, though the scent doesn't really capture my personality, as it aged on my skin, the smell got even better and became me-ish. It didn't last so long for me, I had to reapply them every three hours. It smells heavy for me, too heavy during fresh appliance. I have to let it simmer for a while, and that was the reason I let it go.

During my 9th year to my start of 10th year, I used Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers' Love. I know, tacky choice of celebrity perfume because now, I think myself as an idiot for using celebrity scent. They're rich enough and truthfully, I'm not that obsessed with either Gwen or Jennifer. They're not exactly... My muse, plus Kate Moss' perfume is so hard to find here. It doesn't really change, the smell. It's overpowering me, to be quite honest. It's totally not me, it's a bit fruity and flowery, but there's too much effort for my taste. I still got a half bottle and I have no idea how to finish it.

I used Marks and Spencer's Florentyna for a while, probably two months. Another overpowering scent. It lasted a lifetime, though. You put it on now, it'll last until ten hours long. The smell does change but still reflecting the same floral-alcoholy smell. It smells old lady-ish, too. I don't know why I get it in the first place. Oh wait, the three for two deal!

What I'm using now is Marc Jacobs' Daisy. I love it! It's versatile and it's beautiful. I love the bottle and I love Marc Jacobs. It only lasted a few hours though, but I love the smell on me. It's not too intoxicating and it's not overpowering me. It's fresh and feminine, but comfy. I planned to switch to ck be for everyday use, continuing my mother's love for Calvin Klein fragrance during her youth. She gnawed on ck one, but she said my personality would be even more defined by the ck be, not the ck one. Her perfume now is Lancome's Tresor. Old Mommy's perfume, I know.

Quote of the week: Next post!

To study the hopes and dreams.

The language that everybody fluently speak, is the language of hopes and dreams.

I don't know why but my gut said that it's grammatically wrong. I might have Zizi telling me that he will need to deploy his grammar nazi troops because mine's a fuck-up. Well, nothing is wrong when you're learning.

So I got this post inspiration from the drive I had to the school. For two days in a row, I've taken cabs (NYC talking of me, cabs) to school because my uncle isn't there to drive and my mom had an early meeting (5/7) and her cough is getting worse (5/8). I wasn't up to thinking since my eyes are glued to my blackberry and my ears are plugged with continuing tunes of Northern Downpour in repeat. Yes, Northern Downpour. Anyway, it's actually a continuation of yesterday post.

Hope and dreams; hmm, how would you define them? One of my hobby is looking up words I don't know in the built in dictionary in my laptop and check out the Thesaurus tab too, but I won't be this time. Hope and dreams are the things you should be describing effortlessly and it should be dreamy too.

Hope is the happy smile on your face, dreams are being with you forever.
Hope is something we reach for, dreams are the thing we live for.
Hope is the car and dreams are the destination.
Hope is the drive while dreams are the goal.

And inevitably, hope and dreams are the most common thing in this world, ever. Even the depressed dream of death and the numb hope nothingness. And from what I've experienced; read; consumed in a fantastic daily dosage, it's the thing that brings us together. Not love because it could hate. Not peace, because war is still going on somewhere in this tiny globe of ours. Not desperation because despair ends at some points. It's hope and dreams. There's one spectacle though; failure. But I believe if we join hands in this part, and got each other back, our hope and dreams will take the pain away and put some fire (or coal, for long lasting effect:p) to relit that cornered hope and dreams. Hope and dreams are a language, hope and dreams are the thing that connect one to another and make sparks and fireworks in our chest, believing that there is still a way, and there's always a way.

I have a hope, and dreams. Of course. I'm a unstoppable dreamer.
One of mine is New York City, cooking chocolate cake from scratch, having a full wavy effortless hair, eating non alcoholic (switch the bourbon to soda) mint julep popsicle on a hot summer day, have a summer love, getting married in Central Park during autumn, graduating from the Singapore Management University, to adopt a beautiful hispanic little girl, and a gazillion thing running through my mind.

One another thing; if you want to reach your hope and dreams, you have to have a sane head, a big, gigantic heart, striving passion and drive, and a will to really catch it in your hands. That, plus a little ribbon of faith.

Next Regret will be?

Human lives in regret. I have made maybe a hundred regret and I never chose to do any of them. I may be doing my most regretful choice right now, sitting in Starbuck downtown Jakarta, writing and having one of the time of my life, going against the wind and the dream I am in.

All of my life, I've been trained to dream of being a doctor. I've lived in hospitals because of my sickness, acquainted by several doctors, got lost and ended up in the morgue (and insanely, feeling fine by the smell of delayed decomposition and the chill of the metal desks), going through an asylum with jails in it, with insane person in each one, managing to smile and stuck briefly to my auntie (who's a psychiatrist). My grandpa is a famous obstetrician and he did almost 5 c-section surgery everyday. I've lived with an eye that, being a doctor works. Being a doctor will make you rich, and you do believe that money is the thing to make you happy. They're all true. Until I started writing. I believe it was.... 2005? 2006? I don't remember. I made a juvenile short story called 'The Andrews Girls" and it's about ten or seven girls living in one house to study. They drink alcohol and have boyfriends, went to parties but still, achieving great grades and looking pretty. See, the impossible things in life. And I continue working with my writings, by reading more, until my things now are influenced by the early work of Jane Austen and Virginia Woolf's life. I like writing, and I want to make writing a career.

When I thought, oh, the war I'll get in to is maybe just writers block and misinterpreted imaginations, I was wrong. My parents are denying the fact that, I love to write. I love to inspire people with the choice of words of mine, and the language and the contrary I build against this cruel, feud world to live in. They just wanted me to be... Different. They didn't want me to be the name they saw under the big headlines, they want me to be the headlines (Something positive, I supposed?). The passion I have in my mind was never understandable for them, and sadly I got nothing to prove that... I want to be a writer. I want to report things and go to the field, writing about the irony about the quality of education the nation had.

In years, during my Mom's marriage at the year of 2011, my stepdad enlightened me. He switched my mother's mindset that being a doctor is not that promising. He wants me to be a business woman, a manager, studying the science of micromanaging and closing a deal. This... I thereby accepted. But the sneakiness I've gained from watching too much Gossip Girl, I asked for an option of being a writer. Surprisingly, he bought me a macbook and pushed me to proceed with my literature love. And by this time, my Mom has changed her mindset too. She'll let me write as a career, if anything else fails. She used to believe that, hobbies and passion should be just hobbies and passion. But now, seeing people gained fortunes from expanding their love and passion, I believe she'll believe me to expand my love of writing and sharing things. I'm highly happy that she understood the burn I felt in my fingertips as I typed in sentences and pressing the delete button to repair, the smile I gain when people somehow are inspired with my words, the fact that I may change a person view and everything. I just wish that a) my stepdad didn't regret the macbook he gave me. and b) my mom won't regret the fact that she opened her mind and let me explore the world of writing.

So the key to avoid regrets... Is keeping promises, keeping your words, keeping everything that held you in. Rethinking everything should be always necessary. Lived as if today is the last day you'll live. If you ask me what my regret that still burning me deep inside,

Progressing, and sharing.

So my post about 'bullying' and B-Next Generation is progressing now; My team 'GEMA' made it to the second stage of the whole competition and I'm so excited for that. I feel like the doors are opening and letting me in to explore new things.

Speaking about exploring new things, I watched the movie 'Negeri 5 Menara' and I fell in love with Ustad Salman. His way of speaking, and teaching reminded me so much of my Agama teacher in SMPN 1 Bogor, Pak Rizal Dalil. Seeing him on the big screen made me realise how much I've missed him and his quirky way of teaching us the beauty of Islam. Ustad Salman capture the perfect harmony about sharing and dedication of a teacher, which brought me here to tell you about one of my personal dream, being a teacher.

For me, teacher is one of the best occupation in life. Without one, this world will be blind. The logic is, we have pioneers and inventors and smart people because a) they are one of the teacher or b) they are taught by a teacher. We cannot have doctor if the teachers are always absent in class; we cannot have lawyer and professors without the knowledge their teacher gave them. And my dream has always been teaching English in somewhere isolated with no cellphone reception, but with beautiful view and willing kids to explore and train their senses to realise the beauty of the earth, the greatness of science, and all of the things god gave us, embracing them to a different level and again, making the world a better place to live in.

Maybe you wonder, why I want to teach English? Is it because, English is all I got? Or that I'm lazy to learn new things?

I chose English because now, everything better is delivered in English. Books aren't the window of the world now, English is. Being the number one language, this will gave so many advantages to conquer the earth and things living in it, and just thinking of turning a life of a passionate isolated kids, that's one hell of a dream to realise, right?

To be quite honest, I just want the future to be brighter, more fun, more adaptable for kids, less violence, and be better... With a simple, personal contribution of mine.

Two hearts collide

Tugas puisi berkelompok dari Ibu Ani! Teamed-up with Icha dan menghasilkan puisi tergalau seperti biasa. Disaat yg lain ngomogin perang, persahabatan, sampe akhirat(?), kita ngomongin menginginkan suatu yang tidak bisa kita miliki. Enjoy!

Hampa

Teriknya matahri tidak membangunkanku
Dari sunyi senyap ruangan
Bau basah bercampur lumut
Tempatku menyimpan sejuta mimpi
Sejuta angan yang memintamu disini

Di ruangan kosong yang kusebut hati
Ku pahat namamu, nafasku memburu
Mengingat kau adalah hal terindah
Yang tak dapat mengisi relung hampa di hatiku.

Kucoba terus menyibak harap
Yang terbungkus kelambu kelam
Berpita memori nanar
Akan hadirmuu yang tak akan tergantikan
Mencoba pergi, aku terluka
Mencoba tinggal, aku membeku

Baringkan tubuku di atas pahit harapku
Isi semua kantungku
Dengan egoku yang telah membatu
Menenggelamkanku lebih dalam
Hingga aku menyentuh dasar
Yang kosong
Yang merunduk menuju pilu

Moved on, but have not stopped loving.

Virginia Woolf once said,

"A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction."

Currently reading one of her work; Mrs. Dalloway.
I am a firm believer on her saying, that “Books are the mirrors of the soul.” It's true. If one said, it's the eating, or it's the eyes, or it's behavior and words, I'd said the books they're reading. And reading Virginia Woolf's novel, is a dead stare in the mirror. A dead stare into the cliff.

In books, I find different version of me strolling down the rusty pages, exploring the syntax and the choice of words the Author used.

When I'm Jane Austen kind of girl, I picture me as a simple, village girl that worries too much of not finding a husband in time; or chasing down a big love on a cold stone statue. I was strolling around in England, wearing sweet pastel gowns and round hats, getting ready to go to the dance. Then I get to have my version of Mr. Darcy.

Then I get to read the most pop book ever, Cecily von Ziegesar's Gossip Girl; I watched the TV-show first. I was Blair Waldorf, pushing people to swept dirt off my stilettos and screaming the maid name's just because my tea isn't hot enough. I went out with Dan Humphrey, my version, to Brooklyn and watch the most prettiest and most amazing paintings. Went photo camping at the Central Park and saw Broadway live, with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel on stage. Then I'm enjoying a glass of chardonnay, accompanied by a plate of escargot and trio of lamb. I use the most fabulous gowns and I wear the most sick shoes ever made.

My favorite... was reading Dear John. I'm Savannah, whose boyfriend is in the middle of the war. Dangerous, risky, sad, heartbreaking. And in the end, I marry someone else. Someone I don't love, but someone who needs me. I dealt with horse poo and autism kid, built a house and being kissed in the rain; Places, conditions I never have been in before, but was so believable that I'm always biased in the end of the book.

And reading Virginia Woolf, I'd say I won't fill my pockets with stones and run away to the nearest lake.

“You cannot find peace by avoiding life.”
